Four Jewish authors have ‘blown the whistle’ on the ‘ethnic identity of the “Jew” over the last fifty years: Benjamin Freedman in the 1950’s (Google “Jesus was not a Jew”) Arthur Koestler’s seminal book in 1976 (The Thirteenth Tribe), Michael Bradley’s own observations in the 1990’s on his ‘ethnic compatriots’; and Schlomo Sand’s ‘The invention of the Jewish People’ most recently.
